Review of The Tree of Life (2011) by Mike G — 10 May 2013
This is not a film for the typical ADHD movie-goer and most should know that going in. It's slow but visionary and emotional yet mysterious. That Malick admires 2001: A Space Odyssey is obvious, so if you found Kubrick's Magnum Opus perplexing or boring, then don't even bother with Malick's subjective take on humanity.
It starts off very slowly and never achieves "escape velocity", but it's still a good film that will stay with you given half a chance.
