Review of The Tree of Life (2011) by Shane B — 22 Apr 2014
It definitely struggles in the editing and pacing departments and can span into strange territories that don't fit (such as the dinosaur sequence), but if you can get pass those flaws, The Tree Of Life stands as an overall powerful movie that deals with struggles of life, death, and faith.
It has beautiful cinematography, great (sometimes mute) performances, and a message that sticks with you long afterward. One of the better Terrence Malick films, probably my second favorite behind The Thin Red Line.
