Review of The Tree of Life (2011) by Samuel H — 08 Dec 2015
"The nun's taught us there were two ways through life, the way of nature and the way of grace". Tree of Life explores existence. It explores life spirituality, and meaning. It' doesn't boast any explanations, but rather ideas to ponder and wrestle with.
Malick attempts to capture the beauty and darkness of the world. He does so in one of the most beautifully visually appealing films ever. If you can spend 2 hours pondering life and existence, then this film is a must see.
If you're just here to be entertained stay away. Watching this movie is a religious experience.
