Review of The Tree (2010) by Eyal D — 20 Aug 2010
Nice slow-going movie on the theme of mourning. An Australian family with 4 children loses the father, and each of them deals with it in his/her own way. The story focuses one daughter who thinks the father has been reincarnated in the tree in front of this garden. This tree is truly amazing, gorgeous, a whole eco-system alone, but also threatens the house foundations. It kind of symbolize the attachment of the family to the dead father. Until a big storm comes to wipe everything out, so that everybody can start all over again...
Really, very nice movie, well narrated, with very beautiful images of the tree.
