Review of The Treatment (2007) by Gemma M — 18 Jan 2008
I think if Woody Allen had put this movie out everyone would of raved but that's saying more about Allen's current situation and less about this film. I did like the balance between Eigeman, his therapist, and his own mind.
It felt like an idea out of the early 90's but still seemed fresh. I also think the movie does a good job of not being to self-important. To many little indies throw "drama" at you. This one is just kind of is.
The tone matchs the viewers level of investment. That allows for us not be turned off but than again if you don't have much to say or care about it makes it hard to have something to like also. An average small film than stays small to a fault.
