Review of The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948) by Codie E — 20 Feb 2008
A brilliant study of greed; it is clear from the first plans of Bogart, Huston and Holt what will happen and it is all the better for this, as we slowly watch the men slide down the path they're inevitably on.
Everyone is on the top of their game; from Steiner's score and Huston's direction to Bogart's performance. This is a perfect example of adventure filmmaking.
