Review of The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948) by Joey L — 23 Nov 2008
For some reason, I was expecting a totally different movie, but this was just great. I cant ever recall being a huge Humphrey Bogart fan, but I really liked him as the gritty and selfish douche bag who lets greed and paranoia get the best of him.
I love the ending. The fact that all that Bogart cared for was the money, which led to his death, was contrasted by the fact that the others ability to let go of the money granted them with a new life, possibly not one they could have imagined for themselves, but still better than getting hacked to death by a Mexican.
bandit.
