It's rare that I enjoy a movie from the 40s as much as a movie from last year. This time watching it I had 2 things going through my head. Deadwood and There Will Be Blood. And you can see how both of those stories were influenced by this movie.
It really is a perfect film. And Walter Huston just gives one of my favorite performances of all time. The ending scene with Huston and Tim Holt has got to be in my top 10 endings in film history. If you haven't seen it, you really need to check it out.
