Review of The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948) by Paul J — 22 Jun 2012
A morality tale about the power of greed and how it can even drive the best of men into madness. One of finest films in existence. Acting is top notch with one of the most outstanding performances by the great Humphrey Bogart.
One of the first films in Hollywood to be almost entirely shot outside of the United States, it remains a fine directing achievement today. In the end, the viewer comes to realize how pointless it was to attempt to achieve all that wealth when so much bad came from it.
