Review of The Transporter Refueled (2015) by Maksim B — 24 Nov 2015
With very little to offer, except for two or three really good action sequences, Transporter Refueled is a completely unnecessary attempt to re-boot a much beloved Jason Statham - franchise. Without its leading star, with no chemistry between its cast and plot "twists" that could be predicted by a 10-year old, the fourth Transporter movie is the no doubt the worst of all.
Again set at the French Riviera, the movie tells the story of Frank Martin (Ed Skrein) and his father (Ray Stevenson) as they get involved in the revenge plot of four enslaved prostitutes against a local kingpin. Basically everything in Camille Delamarre's movie is ridiculously bad: the dialogues, the performances, the story, the editing. The only things that make Refueled partially watchable are indeed three excellent action sequences which remind of the classic Jason Statham ones.
Unfortunately even this cannot save the movie being even a bad European B-movie with some Hollywood aspirations. If you really want to see it, then lower your initial expectations in advance, but that is only if you are a huge fan of the franchise. The rest would consider their time wasted (or robbed of they spent money on seeing it in the cinema or renting it).
