Review of The Transporter (2002) by Shane J — 25 Jan 2010
It's a nice and simple braindead movie with little character development. If you want pure action entertainment, this is the movie. It'll go in one ear and out the other.
Jason Statham is a classic good guy Englishman who "likes rules." The humor of that is greatly appreciated in this movie. Qi Shu is beautiful but her acting's pretty flawd for the most part.
Francois Berland is a classic lazy french detective who's smart and likes to ponder but properly with no real need to rush things. It makes him a subtle sidekick.
The antagonists are extremely dumb on level, but smart enough to not die for some reason until it's the correct time, which means the end of the movie.
If you don't want to think and just want to be manipulated by a movie, this is the one to watch. There won't be any deep philosophical ponderance. Just a meat and potato action movie.
Nothing really memorable other than Statham's classic english humor.
