Review of The Transporter (2002) by Matthew C — 13 Apr 2010
When you need your fix of Statham, The Transporter is a fun watch. The plot is pretty weak. The accents can be a bit to wade through (if I remember right, Shu Qi didn't speak a word of English before filming started).
And the soundtrack is so shockingly Euro-crappy it's actually kind of amusing. But the action is great, and Statham is just a lot of fun to watch kick butt. Plenty of good driving and fighting. Not a lot of plot twists or socio-political discussion.
Fun, mindless entertainment.
