Review of The Transporter (2002) by Kai82 — 04 May 2020
The movie that made Jason Statham a household name around the world. It is a well crafted action movie with great choreographic written by Luc Besson. Jason Statham is Frank Martin known as the Transporter.
He has 3 rules: A deal made is final, no names and he will never open the package. After the furious introduction he breaks his last rule and gets into more trouble than he could imagine. It is a fine action movie with great chases and intense fight scenes.
The story is also pretty good for an action movie but that is a bonus in this genre for many not including me. Jason Statham does a great job being the stoic man which has still a heart underneath his facade.
Shu Qi is a good addition to him. She is a character with strong believes and morals. She is more just than a damsel in distress but not an action heroine. Matt Schulze is a worthy adversary and an enjoyable villain you love to hate.
Francoise Berleand is the fitting Inceptor who bends rules in name of justice. Overall a fitting cast. I think I have said all there is to say. For my conclusion I will say it is a well made action movie with an enjoyable cast and memorable scenes with a astonishing low budget of 21 millions.
