Review of The Transformers: The Movie (1986) by Darrell M — 02 May 2009
I love this movie. Classic science fiction at its best. Two races of transforming robots that have been enemies for years, join forces against a common foe. A giant eating planet that is voiced by the late Orson Wells.
You'll also have Leonard Nimoy as Galvatron, Robert Stack as Ultra Magnus, Eric Idel as Wreck-Gar, and Judd Nelson as Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime. Although the movie was very good, they killed off certin characters on both sides some were beloved and popular like Ironhide, Prowl, and Starscream.
But most of all the big-daddy of them all Optimus Prime, which left movie theaters to endore the cries of thousands of children. Optimus Prime would later return in the end of the third season of the tv series.
A very good and entertaining movie, I might watch it again myself. Buy the DVD if you have the oppertunity, you won't regret it.
