Review of The Transformers: The Movie (1986) by Lee B — 26 Jun 2009

I won't lie. This was my favorite toy franchise at its most decadent, with an immense cast of talented individuals. An intense film with a huge dose of robotic death and apocalyptic theory this film is an excellent example of unabashed audience targeting.

We first have the infamous curse word, placed there so that parents will be forced to see this PG film with their children and know which new transformers their kids want and secondly we have a high body count and death and dismemberment of robots, (unlike the TV series where we have 0 deaths during a 3 season run.

) While this may not entertain everybody- the film holds together decently and Orson Welles kicks ass in his last film.
