Review of The Transformers: The Movie (1986) by Matthew L — 26 Nov 2010

The animation may have aged badly in places and the soundtrack is typically 80s, lots of hair metal and power ballads, but that doesn't stop this from being a guilty pleasure from beginning to end.

Endlessly quotable and surprisingly dark, what other kids animation has ever killed off so many characters with such abandon? This also holds a special place in my childhood as its the earliest film I can remember seeing at the cinema.
