Review of The Transformers: The Movie (1986) by Erik G — 24 Jan 2012
As what its movie poster says, 'The Transformers - The Movie' is beyond good, beyond evil, and beyond your wildest imagination. I had enjoyed it. This film based on the original 1984 animated series that ruled the airwaves put the action in a 2005 setting (as what the time period was in the story).
In the battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons, the former must save their home planet from the Unicron. While watching this movie I was motivated by the following moments: never-ending animated violence, an Autobot's death, and a character uttering a certain cuss word.
Can you believe this is a kids movie? I'd say yes, and all previously three mentioned moments give this 'Transformers' movie a PG rating. While this is targeted to fans who saw the original series back in the 1980s, anybody can enjoy 'The Transformers - The Movie', especially with those in the present-day generation familiar only with the cartoon's 2007 box-office film adaptation.
