Review of The Transformers: The Movie (1986) by Adam O — 08 Aug 2012
Though we have suffered Micheal Bay's craptastic vision of Transformers only the original 1986 animated feature was the true vision of the classic series that was a mainstream in media history. the movie was considered an excuse to get rid of a old line of toys to make way for new ones.
though true they did one heck of a story to entertain and give us new heroes and villains. The Story centered on Unicorn; voiced by the legendary Orson Welles in his last role before his death, a planet size transformer devouring other planets making his way to Cybertron and Earth.
this all goes down as the Autobots and Decepticons suffer casualties from their war such as Optimus Prime and Megatron among them. While the movie had a great assemble cast for voices the animation was considered bad and was just a giant commercial ad for toys.
Through all the bashing by critics the movie had tremendous acting, music, and stroyling giving us a great film that garned a following something Micheal Bay can never do. So if you want a real Transformers film look no further than this one it is truly "More than meets the eye!!!!".
