Review of The Transformers: The Movie (1986) by Ben C — 30 Oct 2013
Rembering watching this movie as a kid several times, it surprised me that I knew remembered very little about it. How could I with a talented cast in Eric Idle, Judd Nelson, Leonard Nimoy and Orson Welles (to name a few), and a score done by Vince DiCola, the same person who provided the score for Rocky IV? Seeing this movie now, it has convinced me that 'the whole movie was bad' was not the answer at all, because it has a rather beautiful edge and rather wonderful sceneries, even if the animation and filler scenes were cheesy.
Forget the Michael Bay trilogy (which will be turning into a quadrilogy with the fourth movie having none of the original cast in the last movie); this is the true Transformers movie that doesn't rely on women to keep the mainstream audience entertained.
