Review of The Transformers: The Movie (1986) by Earl I — 30 Aug 2014
I love this movie! Anyone who watched the original TV series will. Those who never watched the old series or are comparing the movie to today's standards will never like this movie. Yes the story may be a little weak but considering the era the movie was made it, like most movies and songs of that decade, was perfect for the 80's! What most people apparently fail to realize is that this movie was made back in 1986, almost 30 YEARS AGO.
Imagine if we showed a movie from today back in the 80's. Can you imagine how mind blown the audience would be? Of course the animation for this movie isn't that awe-inspiring. They were still using pencils and paper vs.
gigabytes and 3D rendering. Compare this '86 movie to any other animated '86 movie and you will come to realize it's concept was ahead of it's time.
