How could critics hate this movie?? Transformers the movie was a great movie. it has a great dark tone, unlike the cartoon, impressive animation, an awesome soundtrack that went great with the movie and a good cast.
it also has, what is perhaps, the saddest movie moment in movie history, the death of Optimus Prime. He was such a beloved character and didn't deserve to die (at least they brought them back in Season 3).
Overall, Transformers the movie is the best Transformers movie ever (that's right, Michael Bay, suck it!) and a pretty fun film too.
