Review of The Transfiguration (2016) by Pablo G — 26 Aug 2017
It's well-acted, beautifully shot, and brimming with dark themes -- but The Transfiguration is bogged down by the pacing of its story and the thinness of its script. There are great ideas here, and I love how the casting of Milo in the title role subverts the vampire genre -- but the film is slow to a fault.
Outside of its two leads, character depth is paper thin. I just wish the film was tighter and more focused on its subject matter. Otherwise, what is here is still good -- but mainstream audiences most likely won't be entertained for long.
