Review of The Tracey Fragments (2007) by Aaron T — 31 Jul 2008
I like this director and I definitely appreciate that he was going for something very original and to make for a whole different viewing experience. Seems like he was almost going for a Theatre Of Cruelty effect.
Unfortunately, most of the time it was more irritating to watch than anything. The non-linear storytelling was done very effectively and it made the ending that much more tragic, but trying to watch as many as ten screens going on at once for an hour and a half is terribly obnoxious.
I'll say it's worth a watch, simply because Ellen Page owns this film, her performance is excellent as if you would expect anything less; also, because the end makes it worth the wait in my opinion.
