Review of The Tracey Fragments (2007) by Brian C — 01 Aug 2008
Wow. A difficult movie to watch becuase of the very clever editing, but it is a very rewarding movie.
Tracey, throughout is trying to find her missing brother. We see her life through fragmented images, some are real and some are her delusions, but they are powerful. Once we have pieced together her life, we see that on her journey for freedom, she loses everything. First her virginity, her brother, her dignity, and her clothes.
At the end she is just wandering in a shower curtain, when the snow starts (the blizzard mentioned throughout the movie). It implies that (as mentioned before) that she will most likely freeze to death and be found in the thaw. Naked and alone. This is the price of her freedom.
Quite a powerful movie. Ellen Page is absolutely amazing. One of the best actresses around.
