Review of The Tracey Fragments (2007) by Ian B — 14 Aug 2008
Like protagonist Tracey's mind, *The Tracey Fragments* is all jumble-y. (Some of the film's sequences run simutaneously in different parts of the screen , some events are shown to us in time-lapse from a multitude of different angles, "true" events are seamlessly intermingled with Tracey's feverish fabrications etc.
etc.) When the technique pays off, it pays off tremendously. (It's pretty nifty to see Tracey cross from the footage on one side of the screen to the footage on the other side of the screen). Mishmashy, somewhat impenetrable (Is her brother actually a dog, or a dude who thinks he's a dog?), and pretty damn engrossing.
