Review of The Toxic Avenger Part II (1989) by Alexander C — 28 Sep 2012
Lost and depressed without evil to fight, the Toxic Avenger (Ron Fazio) travels to Japan in order to meet his estranged father. Unfortunately, this leaves the innocent town of Tromaville open to the nefarious machinations of the evil Apocalypse Chemical Corporation.
On top of all that, Toxie's journey places him in the cross-hairs of a wicked drug kingpin possessing a chemical that could possibly destroy him. This sequel tries to ape the brand of broad humor, frequent nudity, and grotesquely elaborate killing scenes that made the first Toxic Avenger an enjoyable (as well as profitable) slice of exploitation movie magic.
It's too bad that a dragging narrative, terrible comedic timing, and flat performances prevent toxic lightning from striking twice.
