Yeah, okay, I don't think I could ask for more violence and gore in a single experience (they shoot a dog for cryin out loud), but this was still a good movie in its own right. An original concept, on par with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
It would have been better if it wasn't so.... campy.
