Review of The Toxic Avenger (1984) by Zack B — 14 Oct 2012
Alright, The Toxic Avenger is a love-letter to people who love revenge stories, superheroes, over-the-top violence, and monsters. The plot is basic, but it helps with how awesome it is, geeky Melvin gets picked on and after a certain traumatic Troma event ends up in some toxic waste and then becomes the Toxic Avenger.
He goes around takes out all the crooks and gets revenge on those that made him what he is today. It also has hilarious moments like some of the kills, getting their innards taken out, hands shoved in a fryer, and a kid getting his head crushed by a car, this movie will satisfy your inner savageness.
I only recommend it to those that have a love for everything mentioned in the first sentence, but only if you have the stomach for it, and if so look for some more Troma movies.
