Review of The Toxic Avenger (1984) by Forrest D — 28 Jan 2013
A "Cult-Classic" trash film sincerely at it's finest, being made by the ever so growing and developing company of Troma this is but the single most classic and appraised gem within the amazing line up of films produced from Troma, even to this very day the character of "Toxie" is but the companies mascot truly showing the style of Troma films (also Troma being but both the largest and longest running last true independent film company in the world) and like most this was my initial introduction to the company and it's style as it had aired on "G4" when they were airing cult classic films (also around the time when the channel was actually good and about games and films) and I had loved it~I thought the initial acting was cheesy yet funny to not simply hate it and the initial premise of the "Monster Hero" was simply fantastic and quite original for it's time being quite the exploit film of a cross between and action/comedy and horror film~Lloyd Kaufman (the director and one of the creators of Troma) truly has an original and unique style of developing films and how they go and is quite remarkable, if you can stomach some gory scenes, nudity, and language, I say I would recommend watching this especially with a group of friends as it makes it the better experience :D.
