Review of The Town that Dreaded Sundown (2014) by Bill R — 10 Feb 2015
This had every potential to pay absolute homage to the original. it had its own story and yet took from it perfectly that it still had a fresh feel. Aside from some of the typical cliches that litters recent horror, this fell short on a few points.
there wasn't any tension/suspense anywhere to be found. during a few chase scenes it feel like it's going to bring you to that point but it falls short and the last one is the kills. The point of a slasher is to have suspense and the kill to be brutal.
given they were mostly brutal but they happen so fast and the camera cuts away faster than some shirts hoolywood action movie, it brings this whole movie down.
