Review of The Town (2010) by Jordan D — 28 Sep 2012
There are, without a doubt, some incredibly gripping scenes in this flick. As a whole, however, this movie is completely contrived and cliched right down to the dialogue. More paint-by-the-numbers the movie could not be.
The "love interest" portion of the movie, which is considerable, does not add up and the characters are wildly inconsistent. This is because the movie does not know what it wants to be. As an edge-of-your-seat suspense/action flick it works in spades but as a melodrama, which is a considerable portion, or in cinematic innovation the movie fails miserably.
