Review of The Town (2010) by Scott W — 05 Oct 2012
Compelling from beginning to end, this is an excellent movie. It hooks you with the first scene and the subsequent developing relationship between Doug and Claire. I think Ben Affleck made a lot of good choices as a director.
He opted to not use showy camera shots and overbearing music, but let the script and the action guide the movie. This reminded me a lot of The Departed, with the Boston setting, and the characters who were building to one inevitable conclusion.
One of the best movies of 2010.
