Review of The Town (2010) by Will M — 18 Feb 2014
The Town - all rise for the honourable Mr. Ben Affleck, For those of you who wrote him off and mocked him for Gigli etc and have a big bowl of 'shut up'!!!
Even George Clooney's had 'Attack of the Killer Tomatoes' but then luckily for him it went unnoticed ... Ben, however wasn't that lucky.
Under-estimated as an actor for most of the part and some wrong choices got his reputation under trouble.
Ben scripts, directs and acts superbly in the movie. The movie runs with a fine pace and doesn't let you lose your attention for a minute.
Right from the 1st bank robbery scene and the build up of Ben's and Rebecca's character to Jeremy Renner's antics.
With masked robbery, HEAT is what people would normally compare it to, but it certainly doesn't fall short of any expectations.
Performance are all top notch, to start with Ben Affleck, Jon Hamm, Rebecca Hall, Jeremy Renner, Blake Lively along with the supporting cast.
VeRDiCT - Ben gets a standing ovation for this one, right from the story to the acting and the direction. He's definitely displayed that he can be cinema's finest all rolled into 1.
Honestly, I feel he might even become the next 'Clint Eastwood'...since its 2/2 for him now.
Go for Ben.
4/5.
