Review of The Town (1944) by Thief 1 — 26 Dec 2012
The film wasn't bad, but I'll be damned if it wasn't a formulaic, by-the-numbers, heist film. I mean, the story is full of clichés that we've seen lots of times before, and brings nothing new to the table.
That said, Affleck does show a good eye as a director. Most notably, the chase and action scenes were pretty solid. And he also handled the lead role decently. But like I said, it's well done, well acted, but not much else here.
