Review of The Towering Inferno (1974) by Kevin H — 24 Mar 2009
The ultimate disaster film is probably the most known as well. Newman and McQueen light up the screen among a star studded cast including OJ Simpson, Robert Vaughn, Richard Chamberlain and more. In actuality though, the real star of this film is the fire, and how good it looks on the screen.
A great film from start to finish although it could have been trimmed down a tiny bit, this never fails to entertain. Where else can you see William Holden get blown back by a tidal wave and then see Fred Astaire get a column dropped on him?
