Eh, I don't really get the appeal of this movie. Yea, its pretty damn epic for the time, and I am sure it blew everyone away in terms of scope and special effects but its really kinda a dumb story.
The film chooses to focus on sooooo many characters that I didnt really give a shit about anyone. Steve McQueen is the best part of this film, big surprise, but even his character didn't have enough appeal.
Its just overblown and way to long. How the hell did this get nominated for best picture...
