Review of The Towering Inferno (1974) by Jaime S — 13 Feb 2011
So far the best 1970s-era disaster flick I've seen (though I haven't seen the original Poseidon Adventure). The stunts and effects look a little bit dated, but they're still of exciting. Steve McQueen just radiates coolness and competence in this role.
The major complaint with the disaster movie genre is that the disasters tend to unfold one at a time, kind of like levels of a video game. I suspect all disaster movies are like this.
