Wow. The trailer indicates an exciting tale set in a beautiful, romantic locale, starring two great actors. I suggest you just watch the trailer and be done with it. The movie is disappointing and fairly boring except for brief spurts. The storyline is nonsensical and the "twist" is stupid and actually makes the movie worse. Jolie's and Depp's talents are wasted in this, really. They really just stare at each other. Jolie's requirement is to look mysterious and beautiful. Depp's requirement is to have a look of perpetual confusion and desperation. God, I can't believe I'm saying this but I think Ricky Gervais had a point when he ribbed "The Tourist" at the Golden Globes this year: the characters are stale and two-dimensional. They recite lines but they don't really have any personality. Their relationship is very under-developed.
Skip it. Unless you love Depp and Jolie.
