Review of The Tomb of Ligeia (1964) by Walter H — 10 Oct 2007
The best of the Corman/Price/Poe movies. Beautifully shot, superbly acted, and with a haunting score, Ligeia is the most mature of the series. Vincent Price usually steals the show from under his co-stars' feet, but in Elizabeth Shepherd, he finds a suitable equal.
Considering she plays two vastly different roles to perfection, it's mind-boggling that Corman did not pair the two more often.
