While it isn't an adventurous and hilarious 90s teen comedy that it appears to be, THE TO DO LIST leans on Aubrey Plaza's plain comedic timing to bring out the pallor of her awkward character into something laughable and passable.
The film boasts of a solid comedic ensemble (enter Andy Samberg, Bill Hader, Clark Gregg, and Rachel Bilson who's a mirthful surprise as the lead's all-out sister) but the story comes short of hormones to fuel a guffaw-inducing throwback edition of a meticulously planned yet gauche sexual awakening.
