Review of The Tingler (1959) by Marc-Daniel O — 16 Aug 2014
We are definitely dealing with a crafted piece of movie. Of course this is 50's sci-fi with weird scenarios. But nonetheless even the subject deals more with human itself than with a strange creature.
What is the Tingler if not a reification of our deepest fears. The pleasure naturally comes from the perfect play of Vincent Price and the plays of it's co-partners. Castle experiments to try to break the fourth wall, setting the audience in the dark or painting the bath blood in red in a BW movie adds on to the movie interest.
A must see.
