Review of The Tinder Swindler (2022) by Eludiumq36 — 15 Feb 2022
"The Tinder Swindler" (110-mins, Netflix) is yet another tale of a Lothario charlatan. We hear from three northern Euro-women who were taken for hundreds of thousands though it's estimated that this already convicted conman had cheated untold women of millions.
This predator, Israeli Shimon Hayut, used the gullible I-want-to-be-in-love women of the Tinder app as his hunting grounds. Note that his criminal enterprise was straight up fraud in "borrowing" women's money, this was not a Ponzi scheme.
The documentary was fairly thorough yet unsatisfying in that though Shimon was totally exposed publicly, he was never brought to justice for his criminal enterprise - only for a passport violation - and continues his fraudulent schemes to this day.
So, this story is not fully told till he answers in full for his many crimes.
