Review of The Time That Remains (2009) by Mike G — 11 Jul 2010
This wasn't at all what I expected, without knowing anything about it in the first place. The film centres around an Arab Israeli families experiences in Nazareth from the inception of Israel in 1948 to the present day, from one surreal experience to the next. From the neighbour who regularly douses himself in petrol but can't light his match (he works in the kerosene factory) to the neighbour who likes to pick up his wife who dresses as an Israeli Soldier but has to be quick cause she doesn't always wait for him to pick her up!
You won't have seen a history of Israel like this before, a film able to make it's views understood through some of the blackest comedy.
Don't overlook......
