Review of The Time Machine (1960) by Woody W — 17 Oct 2007
Oh my, special effects have come a long way since 1960. The Time Machine won an Oscar for special effects and by todays standards it would be laughable, let alone award winning. Models, stop frame, and time lapse photography comprised a great deal of the effects, and the Morlocks looked like beady eyed incredible hulks with Beatles haircuts. One Morlock in particular could have used a manssiere (Seinfeld) he was so large. He must have eaten to many female Eloi's boosting his estrogen levels.
All kidding aside, the movie followed Wells story pretty accurately and still has entertainment value for a 47 year old movie.
