Review of The Timber (2015) by Kevin R — 18 Jan 2016
There's no going back, is there?
Two brothers are desperate to obtain some money to save their home. Meanwhile, their troubles all began when their father abandoned them as young men and no one knows where he went. They take on a job and in the harsh tundra that may reunite them with their father and put money in their pockets; but the wilderness, and those that survive in the wilderness, stand in the way of the men accomplishing their goal.
"Are you going to pull that piece or stand there like a cunt?".
Anthony O'Brien, director of Perfect Sport and the upcoming Doubting Thomas, delivers The Timber in his second major motion picture. The storyline for this picture crosses multiple genres and has some unique components and elements. The acting is above average and the cast includes James Ransone, Elisa Lasowski, Mark Caven, David Bailie, and Attila Arpa.
"What is that?".
"Our demise.".
This was recently added to the Netflix online queue so I added it to the wish list. This was a unique western that has some clever nuances. This is far from perfect, but has some clever elements that made this worth a viewing. I recommend catching this once.
"He came here to die. Let him.".
Grade: C+/B-.
