Review of The Three Musketeers (2011) by Adam F — 03 Oct 2012
So why do people dislike this movie? Because it was directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and doesn't have a well known cast? I'm sure if one of the hotshot directors directed this and if some hotshot actors played in this (such as George Clooney as one of the musketeers), the critics would have worshiped it.
Come on, the movie is entertaining and not boring like some of the highly praised and Oscar winning movies. It may not be the classical tale of the three musketeers, but why does it have to be? I thought this was a fun take on the classic story and had a lot of action, humor, great special effects and the sets and costumes were awesome.
I agree that there was a lot of CGI, but it didn't bother me at all. It looked fantastic and real and not crappy unlike in some movies.
I liked the choice of the cast. Most of the faces are familiar, although they may not be that famous. I enjoyed their performances and I think they all did a good job.
I've seen movies that have crappy effects, a cast that that sucks at acting and a story that puts me to sleep and this movie wasn't anything like that. So, I don't understand all the hate for this movie. I guess some people read what the famous critics write and copy their opinion.
