Review of The Three Musketeers (2011) by Cailum R — 13 May 2012
I HATE RESIDENT EVIL. Can't stand it, would rather watch paint dry, its bland, dull and useless. Which is why this film, directed from the man behind the Resi franchise gets such high marks. My excpectations for this film were beyond low, Logan Lerman is a generally abysmal young actor whos only plus is the fact he starred in a modestly successful franchise film (which at the time is in pre-production for a sequel) and to be fair nothings too different here, but from the swooping spectacle of the great castle, to the charming performances from the 3 musketeers (top marks for Evans) and the ridiculously out there clothing sported by the actors.
They know is a parody take on the classic story and decide to spice things up a little. My breath was taken from me by the great air ship battle which at around 10 minutes long, is by far the best thing ever in a Paul WS Anderson film, a great cast which consists of Oscar winner Christoph Waltz and brittish star Matthew McFadden.
A great nights fun for all the family.
