Review of The Three Musketeers (2011) by Jeffrey M — 18 Jun 2012
The Three Musketeers is as campy as one would expect from a Paul W.S. Anderson film, with cheesy dialogue, an asinine 'plot', and preposterous action sequences. As a gritty and thrilling adaption of the story, it fails (rent Man in the Iron Mask). But as a campy B film, one with lots of energy, some fun performances (Christoph Waltz), and some funny moments, you could do worse. For all its many flaws, the film never bores, and is executed with enough enthusiasm and charm to sustain itself, making it watchable, albeit not particularly memorable.
3/5 Stars.
