Effective and entertaining movie that never tries to be more than it is - a special-effects, period comedy-action movie. It's over the top, it's camp, it's funny - it's everything you'd want from a movie that you can sit down and watch with a bowl of popcorn and know you're going to be entertained.
No, it does not prompt you to think, it does not offer up more than it could be - it simply is. It enjoys being it - and I enjoyed it. No, I might not go back time and time again when there's other better movies to choose from, but I wouldn't complain if it was on.
