Review of The Thomas Crown Affair (1999) by Raziur S — 16 Dec 2008
Although I haven't watched the original version of ``The Thomas Crown Affair'' which was released in 1968 starring Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway, I understand this new version starring Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo had some influence of the old version for obvious reasons.
But what amazed me is the blending of situations which are very difficult to harmonize. Thomas Crown (Pierce Brosnan) a damn rich finance tycoon, irresistible to women, is a critic of painting, loves to collect those and even sometime steals it from museum just to fulfill his desires and finally falls in love with a fascinating woman Catherine (Rene Russo) who is investing his crime and in the process he tames her.
Quite a difficult but I guess successful blending. Brosnan was perfect and Catherine was fascinating. Its good to see how could a lady with his initial characteristics surrenders to Thomas Crown magic.
A good movie to watch.
